While the talk/workshop shedule for PyCon Austria 2026 is still in the works to reflect last-minute chanes, the details for food and parties are veryfied:

Conference talks and workshops will happen between 8:00 and 18:00, with a lunchbreak from 12:00 to 14:00

The bad news first: There will be no such thing as a free lunch at PyCon Austria 2026. Everyone, including helpers and speakers, must pay for their own lunch.

Breakfast

The good news: There will be free breakfast. While the free breakfast is intended for speakers and helpers, in reality no questions will be asked and whoever arrives in university cafeteria at 8:00 a.m. will get a free breakfast (limited to 40 free breakfasts on Sunday, 19th April 2026 and 30 free breakfasts on Monday, 20th April 2026). Additional breakfasts can be ordered in the cafeteria for around 6,50 €.

Lunch

While the cafeteria is open all day, lunch break is planned from 12:00 to 14:00 at both conference days (there will be no talks/workshops during this time-slot). If you pre-ordered lunch or pre-pay your lunch at the registration desk, you will get a lunch voucher (this is only possible for the meat or the vegan menu). Using this lunch voucher, you can eat already at 12:00 in the cafeteria and expect fast service (no waiting line for payments). If you want to pay with cash or card directly at the cafeteria, please go there between 13:00 and 14:00.

Parties

Saturday evening and Sunday evening is party time in the cafeteria, starting at 18:00. Speakers and helpers will get a wrist-band, all other guests will have to buy their food/drinks at the cafeteria. The parties will officially close around 22:00.
