Visitor

PyCon Austria 2026 is a free and public event. Technically, everyone is welcome to visit the event even without registering first. However, a registration is highly recommended, to help us organize things like food (the cafeteria has a finite number of tables), talks & workshops, necessary staff etc. Please note that in case of limited resources (free places in lecture rooms, free seats or in the cafeteria etc.), registered visitors will have priority.

Register as a visitor

Please fill out this Google form to register as visitor: https://forms.gle/iNP2bYpJYqwadzWG6

We use the email address that you will enter in the Google form to send you important updates about the conference. Please use an email address that you read regularly. We send our emails from the domain pycon.at

For private questions, please write an email to pycon@pycon.at. For public discussions, please use this Google group: https://groups.google.com/g/pycon_austria_2026/

Speaker / Workshop leader

General information

  • Talks should aim for a duration of 30-40 minutes, to have time for audience questions.
  • Talks should be given in English language.
  • Talks will (hopefully) be recorded and published as video online.
  • Talks should have a connection to the topic of Python (the programming language) and ideally about FLOSS free/libre/open-source Software
  • If your talk is mostly about promoting your product/service/business, please consider to become a sponsor instead with your own sponsor-table. Talks about your experience of using Python / Floss in your business are welcome of course.
  • The organizers of PyCon Austria 2026 delegated the task to accept/reject talk proposals to a dedicated voting team. Please respect the decision of the voting team. If your talk proposal is rejected, consider holding a workshop instead or giving a lightning talk.
  • Workshops can have flexible duration and are intended for active participation of the audience (usually in the form of tutorials).
  • Lightning-talks can be hold by everyone without need for formal registration. Lightning talks are limited to 5 minutes duration per speaker !

Register your talk/workshop

To help us organize, please register first as a conference Visitor (unless you will only come if you are accepted as a speaker).

We will notify you if your talk or workshop has been accepted.
